As an owner of Bodhisattva Trading Co. for 28 years, I have curated sets for hundreds of customers, many of whom still use their instruments for sound therapy decades later. Unlike crystal bowls, bronze singing bowls last for hundreds of years. My goal is to partner with you to co-create a set that you will love, so that the first set you invest in is the one you will want to keep for the rest of your life.
I am a freelance consultant who can help you create a Master-quality set of bowls in the tuning prescribed by your training and based on your realistic timeframe and budget. Although I no longer directly sell singing bowls, I have numerous relationships with associates in the bowl business, both here in the US and in Nepal, who can source the bowls you need, so I am not limited to the bowls one company has in stock. I'm also free from the conflict of interest of having to sell you a set, whether the bowls are in tune or not. My priority is to you, the customer. My goal is to find you a set based on your parameters and my Master-quality standards of excellence: authenticity, balance of harmonies, volume, long-lasting sustain, and ease of playing.

Contemporary Sets
Third Octave Diatonic Set
This is an eight-piece, diatonic set based on third-octave fundamental tones, ideal for those wishing to facilitate a sound bath in the Western sound healing system.
These beautiful, hand-forged contemporary bowls range from a third-octave C and crest on a fourth octave C. Each fundamental will be within a few Hz. of concert pitch. They range in size between 10 1/2” and 6” in diameter, ideal sizes for use on the body.
Their rich, balanced harmonics sustain sweetly, and their highly polished finish provide a smooth, quieter playing surface for isolating the fundamental technique.
These sets are used for sound meditation, stress reduction, holistic healing and music.
Third Octave Pentatonic Set
Widely acknowledged as the most harmonious scale, this six-piece Pentatonic set is based on third-octave fundamentals. It begins on a third-octave C# and includes the fourth-octave C#.
This ancient Chinese scale was introduced in the 27th century BC by Ling Lun, a court musician under Emperor Huang-ti, the legendary Yellow Emperor. The Pentatonic scale was said to have been originally invented by mathematical formulation of lengths of pipes. First-century Chinese writings indicated its use in Chinese medicine of the time.
These sonorous bowls are within a few Hz of concert pitch. Sizes vary, but can range from 10” to 5 3/4”.
Fourth Octave Diatonic Cup Set
This is a great starter set is made of eight, hand-forged, contemporary singing bowls tuned to the Diatonic scale in the fourth octave. Each fundamental will be within a few Hz. of concert pitch. These sets also come tuned to quarter-tones either flat or sharp of concert pitch.
The bowls range in diameter from 6 3/4” to 4” for the fifth octave C at the set’s apex. (Sizes vary.)
These Cup Sets are loved for their clarity of tone and long lasting sustain. They nest well and are ideal for travel.
Fourth Octave Pentatonic Cup Set
The Pentatonic Cup Set creates layers of soothing harmonics which naturally calm the body and still the mind.
The Pentatonic scales is known as the most harmonious scale because of the absence of the second interval notes between the E and the F and the B and the C.
Based on the fundamentals, this set begins on a fourth octave C# and ends on a shimmering fifth octave C#. Sizes vary, but most bowls range from 6 1/2” to 4”. They nest well and are the lightest singing bowl set to carry.

Tuned sets of antique bowls are available by special order, although tariffs may impact their pricing and availability.
